1. Information Collection Practices (Including Cookies)

We gather and retain data you submit on our website or its mobile counterpart, or provide us in any other manner. This data encompasses personally identifiable details like your name, postal address, email address, phone number, and financial information for transactions (secured and managed by our PCI-compliant payment processors). Additionally, you might supply us with personal preferences and demographic details, such as interests, sexual orientation, gender, age, and location information like your city or town.

Our Service also automatically collects anonymous data about users, including their Internet Protocol (IP) address and how they interact with the Service. We track this usage through 'cookies'.

To understand more about cookies and their usage on our platform, please review our Cookie Policy.

2. Usage of Collected Information

  • To deliver and manage our products, services, and overall business operations.
  • To administer your membership account, offer customer support, and perform related administrative duties.
  • To send you service-related updates, promotional materials, special offers, and other marketing communications via email and mobile messages, including recommendations for products, services, or websites we think might interest you.
  • To conduct analytics on website, mobile usage, and advertising effectiveness.
  • To engage in research and analysis regarding your interactions with, or interest in, our offerings or those provided by others.
  • To register and showcase your profile across other network partner services we operate, as outlined in Section 6 of the Terms of Use.
  • To enforce our Terms of Use and exercise our rights within them.

These activities may be carried out directly by us or through a third-party service provider, who is bound to use your personal information solely to carry out the services on our behalf.

3. Information Sharing Practices

We share your personal information with our associated agents and entities authorised to process this data on our behalf. Each of these entities commits to handling your personal information in line with this Privacy Policy, employing reasonable efforts to fulfil their duties and obligations. We will not disclose your personal information to local authorities or government agencies except when compelled by law or regulatory requirements.

4. Location of Information Processing

The personal information you provide through this website can be stored and processed in any country where we, our partners, or our customers operate facilities. By submitting your personal information, you acknowledge and consent to the possibility of such information being transferred internationally, outside of your home country. Your provision of personal information constitutes your legal agreement to any such international transfer.

5. Sharing Your Personal Information

The use and disclosure of personal and other information we collect from you are solely governed by this Privacy Policy. When engaging with the Service, you might choose to share information about yourself and others, interact with other users, or upload content, including photos and comments that contain personally identifiable information. These actions are regulated by our Terms of Use.

We may employ automated decision-making processes concerning your personal data for certain services and products. Additionally, the content you post may be displayed on other services within our platform or appear in search results related to your postings. It's important to remember that any personal information you disclose in publicly accessible areas of the Service becomes public. As such, this information can be collected and used by others. We urge you to be mindful and cautious when posting personal details publicly.

6. Information Security Measures

To safeguard your personal data from unauthorised access, misuse, disclosure, unauthorised destruction, or accidental loss, we've established comprehensive security policies, rules, and technical safeguards. However, it's important to acknowledge that no system can guarantee absolute security. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot assure or guarantee that your data, searches, or communications will remain secure at all times. Therefore, we advise you to exercise caution and discretion when sharing your personal information.

7. Identity Verification and Face Data

Parts of our Service use identity verification. Depending on the site you use and your membership, this may be a feature you choose to purchase, or a step we require before you can use the Service. Verification is carried out by LEM Verify, an independent identity verification provider, and not by us. You can read their privacy policy at lemverify.com/privacy.

When you begin verification, we open LEM Verify's own web page. On that page, LEM Verify asks you to photograph a government-issued identity document, such as a passport, driving licence, or national ID card, and to take a live selfie using your device's camera. LEM Verify uses that selfie to perform a 'liveness' check, confirming that a real person is present rather than a photograph, a screen, or a mask, and compares it against the photograph on your identity document to confirm that they show the same person. This process involves your facial image and facial measurements taken from it.

We do not collect face data. Your selfie and your identity document are captured on LEM Verify's page and sent directly from your device to LEM Verify. They do not pass through our website, our app, or our servers. We never receive, process, or store your facial images, facial scans, facial geometry, or any biometric template derived from them. Our app does not use your device's camera for identity verification, and does not use Face ID or any other biometric feature of your device. Where our app asks for camera access, it is only so you can take photos for your profile and send photos in your chats.

To begin a verification, we send LEM Verify only your member account number and your email address. When verification finishes, we receive the outcome, a LEM Verify reference number, your date of birth, your name, your gender, and the country recorded for you during verification. We receive no images at any point.

We use your date of birth solely to confirm that you are 18 or over, and we do not keep it. We use your country to confirm that we can offer the Service where you are. If you have not already given us your name or gender, we save them to your profile. The only other details we keep are your verification status, the LEM Verify reference number, and that country.

We use the result of verification to confirm that you are over 18, to activate your account where verification is required before you can use the Service, and to show a 'Verified' badge on your profile so that other members can see that your identity has been checked. On some sites, completing verification also grants you a period of free upgraded membership. We do not use verification data for advertising, for profiling, to match you with other members, or to train any facial recognition or machine learning system of our own.

We do not share face data with anyone, because we do not hold any. Your facial images and identity documents are held by LEM Verify on their own infrastructure, under their privacy policy. LEM Verify is established in the United Kingdom. How long they keep your facial images and identity documents is determined by them and is set out in the 'Data retention' section of their privacy policy.

We keep your verification status, the LEM Verify reference number, and your country for as long as your account remains open, and may keep them after your account is closed for the purposes described in Section 8, such as preventing fraud and maintaining the integrity of our records. You may ask us to delete your verification record by contacting us, and you may ask LEM Verify to delete the data they hold by contacting them using the details in their privacy policy.

8. Accessing and Managing Your Information

If you've set up a member account with our Service, you can easily access and modify your personal information. Simply sign in using your username and password, then navigate to the 'Profile' section where you can update your details.

Should you wish to delete or deactivate your account, instructions are provided on the 'Membership' page for your convenience. Please note that upon deletion or deactivation of your account, we may retain specific information related to your account for purposes such as maintaining the integrity of our records, preventing fraud, resolving outstanding fees, enforcing our Terms of Use, safeguarding the interests of other users, or other legally permitted actions.

9. Age Limitation Policy

Our Service is exclusively available to individuals who are at least 18 years old, or have reached the age of majority in jurisdictions where 18 is not considered the age of majority. In line with legal requirements regarding commercial services, our offerings are not directed towards individuals under the age of 18. Should we come across any data from users believed to be under this age threshold, we will take steps to promptly remove such information from our systems.

10. Email Communication Preferences

Upon registration, you agree to accept email communications from us. However, you have the freedom to modify your email preferences at any point. To adjust how often you receive emails or to unsubscribe entirely, log in with your username and password, and visit the settings section to update your preferences. Within the Settings, you can choose to continue receiving, limit, or halt the receipt of promotional emails and message notifications from us.

Additionally, you can opt-out of our emails by clicking the 'unsubscribe' link located at the bottom of any email we send you.

11. Managing Your Subscription Payments

Your subscription is personal to you and cannot be transferred or assigned to anyone else. If there's a change in your payment information, such as the expiration date of the credit card associated with The Service, your home or billing address, or if you suspect a security issue like the loss, theft, or unauthorised use of your ID or password, please reach out to us immediately. You can notify us by sending an email, conventional mail, or by submitting a ticket through the Helpdesk. You will be responsible for any unauthorised use of the services until we receive your notification.

In situations involving a lost or stolen card, or if fraud is reported, we will fully support investigations conducted by your bank or law enforcement, providing necessary data which might include your personal details.

12. Updates to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at our discretion periodically. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website, as reflected by the updated 'last updated date' at the beginning of the Privacy Policy. By continuing to use the Service following these updates, you signify your agreement to the revised policy. If you do not accept the changes made to the Privacy Policy, you should discontinue your use of the Service immediately.
